Your Initial Dental Visit

At Dr. Ernesto Perez Miami we want you to feel totally at home during your first visit to our Miami, FL office. Our dentists and team have designed the first visit to be comfortable and thorough. So we’ve broken it down for you so you can be prepared and relaxed.

When you arrive you’ll be greeted by our receptionist. If you haven’t already filled out your new patient forms online you’ll be given the paperwork. These forms are necessary as they help us understand your medical history and specific dental concerns.

After that one of our dental hygienists will take you to a treatment room. Here they’ll go over your oral health history and listen to any concerns or goals you have for your smile. This initial conversation is important because we can tailor our care to your specific needs.

Then we’ll do a full oral exam. This includes a thorough cleaning of your teeth, digital X-rays to see the full structure of your teeth, an oral cancer screening, and an assessment of your gum health. We’ll also examine each tooth for decay or damage.

After the exam our dentists will go over the findings with you. They’ll explain any areas of concern, answer your questions and work with you to develop a treatment plan if needed. We believe in patient education so we’ll explain everything in plain English.
